Marketing Pilgrim: If Twitter and Yahoo Answers Mated You’d Get Attendi

  • HMTKSteve · 2 years ago
OK, and what benefit do I get for joining the site and answering questions? Are they offering some sort of revenue share?

I just do not see why an "expert" would want to hang out on one of these sites without gaininig something in return.

I agree that's an issue, Steve. My understanding is that this might be aimed more at afficionados, the same people who post recipes or answer questions on forums.

I think a presence on Attendi also could be part of your linking strategy; you can put links to blogs or websites on your profile, or feed your blog into your profile. You also could put links to your articles, blog posts, videos, etc. into your chats.

If you don't have a reputation as an expert, this site could help--if it gets the traction.

In my new book I discuss how Twitter & Yahoo Answer can be used for branding. Attendi could be a great tool to add.

Actually this may be a good idea. I am interested to see how it works. As Andy said, it could be a good branding tool.

I think this sounds like a great improvement on the YahooAnswers concept. I'm looking forward to the site getting out of beta. I think lot of people have knowledge they don't mind sharing, compensation or not. It's a way to procrastinate while still feeling productive. I'm sold.

actually there are more efficient search engines than google, for image search i first try flickr (cc licence), then images.live.com.
for tech savvy stuff i search slashdot or digg, for general web delicious. but for overall general subjects wikipedia and then google.
see, in many popular subjects, googles results may be crappy thanks to SEO.

If this works as intended (can't see a reason why it shouldn't based on beta feedback) it will be a very cool place to gain some credibility. Initially there's nothing of immediate benefit to the "experts" they're looking for, but if you can build yourself a reputation, you can easily "direct" those people to other useful resources - like your site.
