Marketing Pilgrim: Google Analytics Down?

  • David Erickson · 2 years ago
Yes, it's down. I have the exact same problem across 10 sites.
  • Adrian Lee · 2 years ago
Yep, got that on 2 little sites I have running GA.
One site recorded 1 page view on Sunday, the other recorded none. While Saturdays page views looked in the normal kind of range. So thinking nothings been recorded since fairly late Saturday, UK time.
  • Rob Lewis · 2 years ago
Yep, I got one visitor showing on Sunday (UK) - noticed something similar happen in the middle of last week and it seemed to catch up a day or two after.

    Rob.
  • Jay Harper · 2 years ago
Yes, I'm seeing it as well, across a broad spectrum of sites...

  • haentz · 2 years ago
Yep, same here. This morning a 9am, when the stats were supposed to updated the graph dropped to zero for all my tracked sites.
  • Andy Beal · 2 years ago
Thanks guys. GA often has a lag in reporting data, but not normally this long and not without some comment from someone at Google. Maybe the stitches busted on the recent facelift. ;-)
  • Greg J. Smith · 2 years ago
I hope they fix it soon, I'm going into withdrawal.
  • Al Scillitani · 2 years ago
Same here and this is why we are starting to look into different analytics tools.
  • imnotadoctor · 2 years ago
GA down all weekend for me.
  • Chris · 2 years ago
Down for me too, very frustrating.
  • Michael Martinez · 2 years ago
Down. Not a big thing for me but thought I'd chime in. :)
  • C Pons · 2 years ago
We have reports but we have noticed that it doesn't work fin, only a few records...´
    (in Spain)
  • Anna · 2 years ago
Mine has been down for a few days too (Austin, TX). Hope they fix it soon.
  • David V. · 2 years ago
Seeing this across multiple Analytics accounts. Was just about to hit the forums when I saw this post. I am getting some information since Sunday, but very limited.
  • Erik · 2 years ago
I use Analytics for two different sites. Analytics for both reports zero traffic for July 29, and reduced traffic for July 28.
  • Sandra Ferreira · 2 years ago
Yep. My first thought was "have I offended the Google gods in some way?" ... but no. Comparisons with Urchin stats and other site provided stats packages don't jive - for the last few days. Something is definitely wrong.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
Google Analytics down for wink.com as well. Started dropping about 3 PM on July 28. And down completely since July 29. Usually when this happens it comes back in a few hours. This seems to be the longest outage. Surprised no comment from Google.
  • Chris Rutherford · 2 years ago
Ya I have 30 accounts on my analytics, and noticed 2 days ago that all of my sites traffic dropped badly... Then yesterday, 0 visits on all my sites... Hopefully they didn't loose the data

Found you through google blog search, btw..
  • Andy Beal · 2 years ago
Thanks guys - Google should have an explanation post up shortly.
  • Michael · 2 years ago
  • Chris Rutherford · 2 years ago
About time.. Now I can start my adwords campaigns knowing that they are still collecting data. I know in the past they have always said they will continue to collect data, but this time they didn't mention anything, leading me to believe otherwise
  • Keri Morgret · 2 years ago
It's been down for all of my accounts since Saturday evening (Pacific time).

Thanks for bugging them Andy. I sent a message through the contact form asking if they could put up something on their blog. Looks like they finally did, though it hasn't hit Google Reader yet.
  • Ontario Emperor · 2 years ago
The 1-2 day delay in acknowledging the problem is troubling. Of course, we get what we pay for...
  • Andy Beal · 2 years ago
@Ontario - I would normally agree with you. But Google's working hard to convince big companies that GA is as robust as other paid solutions. This doesn't help their cause.
  • Kirby Collins · 2 years ago
I'm showing 0 on my sites, at least my adsensce is reporting traffic.
  • Silver · 2 years ago
It's really not that hard to have a page up that lists current issues and estimated time-of-fix for a system. Really.

Why doesn't Google have this? I'm still unimpressed with the new Google Analytics, just as I blogged earlier.
  • Glen · 2 years ago
Noticed this on all my sites aswell, glad to see im not the only one

Although I still love the service in general
  • Shannon · 2 years ago
Yeah, I have the tan tan WordPress plugin and it hasn't been reporting the analytics usage either. I just thought it was something on my end.

Thanks for the post. I'm not going to worry about it now.

  • Mark · 2 years ago
I was wondering what the heck was going on with GA lately. I thought it was something wrong with my blog. Hope Google gets it updating again soon.
  • jim · 2 years ago
Yeah, down here as well as of today.
  • John · 2 years ago
It's still down for me... Has anyone seen it come back for them?
  • Andy Beal · 2 years ago
@john - it's still down. Apparently the mice that spin the wheel are on strike, holding out for extra cheese rations. ;-)
  • Keri Morgret · 2 years ago
Andy, you mean the mice don't have their own cafeterias? I bet that's why Google doesn't report all of your inlinks either, those mice just don't have enough energy to find all of them.
  • Andy Beal · 2 years ago
It looks like data from Sunday is starting to show up.
  • Nick Stamoulis · 2 years ago
Looks like it is starting to show up seeing data across many client sites...
  • Hershel Miller · 2 years ago
I've got Google Analytics placed on my blog.

Earlier today it reported 0 or 2 visitors, as of right now traffic numbers have returned.

phew, and I got all nervous and stuff ;-)
  • Bushido · 2 years ago
